Get To Know Artist Szjerdene

If London-born Amsterdam-dweller Szjerdene’s voice had blessed your ears you’d know it. Her music makes you feel something. She is a fascinating artist who has quietly commanded the attention of music lovers, journalists, and creatives around the world. With a gorgeous voice and a talent for telling compelling stories through music, Szjerdene is an artist that you need to know

Born and raised in Hackney, Szjerdene (pronounced J’er-deen) is a name you might not have come across before. Her voice, however, is another story. Szjerdene’s musical taste evolved past pop, she found herself immersed into the world of jazz. “I fell in love with Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, and Dusty Springfield” she shares. Equally important were her fellow UK songstresses like Corrine Bailey Rae and Amy Winehouse. This mix of modern pop influences combined with yesteryear blues/jazz illustrates Szjerdene’s eclectic sound. “It’s old, but fresh…Very pure vocals and honest lyrical content”.

In addition to working with Bonono, Szjerdene has collaborated with leading electronic producers worldwide such as Robin Hannibal, Lapalux, Eric Lau, Slugabed, and Glen Nicholls to record music and play live. She has appeared as the guest vocalist to play over 175 shows (including Coachella and sold out shows at The Sydney Opera House, Paradiso and Brixton Academy) across three continents and 30 countries, wowing audiences with her hypnotic stage presence and vocal prowess. A vary of projects under her belt Szjerdene is growing as an artist and I'm loving the evolution.
